About us

The North-Bund in Shanghai is the most famous location for registration of headquarters of shipping companies and maritime stakeholders. The North-Bund is located in Hongkou District, Shanghai and covers an area of 4 km². The vibrant part of the city is located north of the Pearl Tower on the Puxi side of Huangpu River.

We represent SESC, the Sino-European Shipping Center, an important driver for expanding the maritime network in Hongkou, North-Bund.

We support the local Hongkou Government to invite qualified European companies focussing on shipping, manufacturing of materials or components for the maritime industry which consider establishing an office in Shanghai, to submit their preliminary qualification paper (profile, strengths, tasks) and informal application to us for review and liaison with Shanghai Hongkou District Promotion and Investment Service Center.

Functions of Sino-European Shipping Center @ North-Bund (“SESC”)

• The Platform for shipowners and European suppliers:
  12 China headquarters of top 50 global shipowners are located in North-Bund area including COSCO, MSC, Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, PIL, Carnival Cruises, Viking Cruise, China Shipowner Association, etc.
• The Platform for shipyards and European suppliers:
  CSSC (China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.) based in Shanghai including Jiangnan Shipyard, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard, WaiGaoQiao Shipyard, etc.
• Innovation Center & Incubator: incubate and grow up European startups and technology oriented companies with market research, R&D, financing, law services
